A Young Ambassador’s role is to:
- increase participation and healthy lifestyles in their school
- promote the positive values of sport in and through sport
- be a role model in advocating PE and school sport
- be the young people’s voice on PE and school sport in their schools and communities.
The SPIN schools have been heavily involved in the Young Ambassador scheme and have encouraged Young Ambassador’s to help at their school sporting events like Sports Day, matches and much more.
SPIN have helped with the training of Young Ambassadors and hope the young sports enthusiasts will carry on their role throughout Primary school as well as when they get to High School.
SPIN put on a Young Ambassador Training on Monday 7th November2016.
We had Silver Training for Year 8 pupils from Kirkburton Middle School which included; increasing participation in your school, promoting PE and Sport, how to be a role model and the ability to inspire and influence young people. Our Silver Ambassadors stood up at the end of our conference and spoke to the rest of the ambassadors- having a go at their first public speaking! Well done!
Our Bronze Training for Year 6 pupils from- Rowley Lane, Newsome Junior, Oak, Dalton and Lepton included; increasing participation in your school, promoting PE and sport, creating a notice board and putting together an activity which they delivered to the other KS2 schools. All the Bronze young ambassador’s did really well at creating an activity and delivering it.
Thank you coming to the training, and good luck with leading your activities!
